The THIINKFit Project
Using Nintendo's™ Wii, I've been able to create a unique atmosphere every morning at Claymont Intermediate in Dennison, OH. The strategy was by exercising every day with my sixth grade students, I could create an interactive project that would increase attendance, improve GPA scores, increase self-image, and improve OAT scores (Ohio Achievement Scores). The THIINKFit project allows students to stimulate their bodies and minds before school starts - Allowing them to start out on the "right foot." I knew how exercising made me feel, could it do the same for my students?
*The use of the Wii Fit system is not meant to substitute actual exercise, but to supplement the minutes students exercises in days time. Using the Wii Fit system this year, my students went from 30 minutes of overall exercise time at school, to 50 minutes of exercise a day.

ReplyDeleteToday, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
